#59 - Life at Ice Level with Pierre McGuire

Scott Livingston published on

This episode features Pierre McGuire. Pierre is an NHL hockey analyst for NBC Sports. Until 2011 he was a prominent analyst for TSN in Canada.  Pierre’s post-athletic career was in coaching initially, and he was an assistant coach with the Pittsburgh Penguins when they won the Stanley Cup in 1992. He also had a brief stint as head coach of the Hartford Whalers in 1993. He further coached in Ottawa and in the East Coast Hockey league with Baton Rouge.  Pierre became a color commentator for CJOH in Montreal covering the Montreal Canadiens through the late ’90s and into the 2000s before becoming TSN’s lead hockey analyst. He’s a dual citizen with roots in Quebec and his story is a worthy listen.
