Although future NHL Hall Of Fame player Alex Ovechkin scored his 30th goal of the year the Blues dominated the Capitals in this 5-2 win. The Blues offense was supplied by Robert Thomas, Colton Parayko, Oskar Sundqvist, Alex Pietrangelo, and Tyler Bozak. The Capitals two goals were scored by Alex Ovechkin and Brett Connolly. Jake Allen was in goal for the Blues and stopped 23 of 25 shots for the win.
