After beating the Penguins on the previous day 5-1 on the road the Blues were looking for back to back wins. The Sabres lead 3-1 until around  12 minutes in to the second when David Perron made it a one goal game with his 18th goal of the year. The Blues would eventually tie it in the third on a goal by Brayden Schenn, but could not win the shootout and fall 4-3.
