The Last Podcast Ep 181 - The Case for Hardship

Karli Winata published on

So how difficult do you want your games to be? The duo looks into the world of video game difficulty. For funsies, we decided to take a hard line position on the topic and found themselves ending up on a whole different side of where they thought they would end up. In the news Nintendo released Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. patch to speed things up, a 12-year old exposes gender discrimination in games and restores the duo’s faith in humanity’s future, and Karli squeel’s like a little girl at Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Karli’s gaming has become boring, so Mario picks up the slack with a strange, strange licensed game.

    Hey "Weirdo"!

For me a hard game will result in a rewarding experience. Also sometimes, the harder modes make the game "life=like" notably the Call of Duty "Veteran" modes.

The only exception is Ninja Gaiden as the mechanics never "clicked" for me.
