In the 2nd part of our NSA trilogy, I am talking with NSA whistleblower William Binney. He is a former NSA official who resigned from his position in 2001. While he was working for the agency, he was one of the developers of a system called ‘ThinThread' which was designed to collect “actionable intelligence” with privacy protection. However, instead of ThinThread, the NSA decided to develop multi-billion dollar system called Trailblazer that never became operational.
Today Binney is known as an outspoken critic of NSA data collection policies.
