The New Yorker Article by Michael Pollan: The Intelligent Plant
https://goo.gl/WS1bnZ
In this episode we are talking with dr. Suzanne Simard - professor of forest ecology from the University of British Columbia.
We talked about scientific theories and experiments regarding communication between plants and trees. Suzanne's research is focused on so called mother trees - older trees in forests which are distributing nutrients through underground mycorrhizal networks. Those important findings are opening new sets of questions and implications regarding intelligence of plants and environment that we share with them. Suzanne also described her close encounters with skeptics after her papers on this subject were published.
