2021_01_31 Judges 12 (Jephthah - The Difference A Word Can Make)

In this sermon, Pastor Miller covers Judges 12 where the story of Jephthah continues and echoes both the life of Gideon and the life of Abimelech. Just as Ephraim confronted Gideon for not being involved in his conflict they come to Jephthah with a similar complaint. Unlike Gideon Jephthah is unsuccessful at using a diplomatic resolution and war breaks out. As the Ephraimites flea they attempt to cross the Jordan river and go home but Jephthah has positioned men at the river and the Ephraimites are tested by the pronunciation of one word.
