2021_03_28 Jesus as King (Matthew 21.1-7, 1 Samuel 10-16)

Oregon Trail Baptist Church published on

In this sermon, Pastor Miller traces three-step process by which a King would be appointed in Israel. Kings would first, be appointed by a prophet or other leader who was recognized by God then they would need to prove their worth. Next, they would need to prove themselves through some great feat. Lastly, they would need to be coronated. We see these events clearly in the lives of King Saul and King David and Matthew takes this theme in his Gospel and makes it clear that Jesus is King. Key events in the life of Jesus show that He was anointed, tested, and  was coronated in surprising ways. The question for us is, “Do you live as if Jesus is your king?”
