Khutba - Why Does God Allow Children to Suffer?

Allah (swt) often describes Himself in the Qur'an as merciful, compassionate, kind, and loving. Yet when we look at the world around us, we find it filled with war, crimes, hatred, and atrocities. We see pictures of homeless children in America, starving children in Africa, and injured or dead children in Syria, Iraq, and Palestine. Why would a loving God allow this to take place? Why would God allow children to suffer??
