The End of Thrones
There's been a lot of talk in the geek community this week about the impending Season 8 of HBO's "Game of Thrones". Mostly it revolves around the fact that it will be the last. Its always been a sad fact of American entertainment on TV that you have to beat the hell out of a TV show that's popular till it disappears silently into the night. Very rarely do we see a show run just long enough to do justice to the characters and the story; Lost, The Office and even Star Trek come to mind.
Why is there this never ceasing desire to push out twenty four episodes per season until it loses popularity and eventually gets cancelled. Makes no sense.
The makers of GOT have it right, no doubt under the watchful eye of its creator, not to keep on making it for its own sake but to complete the convoluted "Song of Ice and Fire".
