Best cars of 1980? You're right. Mos are crap. What does come to mind, aside from a few German cars are the light Japanese trucks. Some of those are high in demand today.
My birth year, 1973, isn't much better. But things were more interesting on the other side of the pond. http://classics.honestjohn.co.uk/top-10s/top-10-the-class-of-1973
Great podcast, guys. Best of 2016 so far? I thinks so.
I can relate to Jeff's feelings on the QX60. It's adequate, and is related to both the Pathfinder and Murano (might even have the same CVT). I drove this one from Midland Texas, into wonderful Marfa, and then on to Big Bend (where it got dirty), El Paso, multiple points in New Mexico, and eventually Phoenix. Thanks to tons of coasting down mountains, I managed to get 28MPG over 1888 miles driven. It's the least luxurious Infiniti, but also the most family-friendly Infiniti. I think Jeff does videos of all the press cars he drives, so maybe a video is coming?
When I first subscribed to this podcast, it was June 2014, and Blake had just ordered the new engine for his Miata. I was driving up to Lime Rock to see Spec Miatas race (appropriate). Glad to hear he got his car back!
